Childhood and youth
Gazarov was born in 1958 into an Armenian family. The boy spent the childhood period of his biography in Baku. My mother had an education as an accountant, but she did not work by profession. My father was in charge of the candy factory, and then the Baku winery. Mom put on real shows at home. She sang well and knew acting skills. He got a job at the DOP and began to prepare for the next test. During this period, Seryozha learned the theater from the inside, watched the accomplished talents.
In the hope of success, the young man went to conquer the capital. He was especially lucky, because the famous Tabakov was recruiting for the GITIS course. The performance of an excerpt from Gogol's story "The Nose" with an unusual accent amused the selection committee very much. But the examiners saw in him a great desire for improvement and potential. Oleg Pavlovich took a talented student under his wing.
On the stage
First, the aspiring actor performed in the performances of Sovremennik, then Tabakov called him to the Snuffbox. Gazarov not only took part in the master's productions, in 1990 their joint directorial premiere of Roof was released. Following this, his independent production of The Inspector General was awarded the prestigious award as the best performance of the year.
The creation of the private film company "Nikita and Peter" was crowned with failure, then Sergei again remembered the theater stage. In 1998, Armen Dzhigarkhanyan invited him to the post of director in his theater.

Personal life
For a long time, the artist tied marriage with colleague Irina Metlitskaya. The couple had two sons. When his wife died of leukemia in 1997, the father took on the responsibility of raising the children. Now the elder Nikita is a specialist in finance, the younger Petya is a musician and plays the saxophone.
Sergei worked hard, and when the pain of loss subsided, he met a new love. In 2006, the second wife Elena gave birth to the actor's heir Stepan. For the first time, dad and son Gazarov appeared together on the TV program "Hello, Andrei!" in May 2018.
