Biography
Lyudmila Efimenko was born in 1951 in the capital of Ukraine (Kiev) on September 25. Since childhood, she wanted to become an actress. Despite the fact that Lyudmila Filippovna studied at a mathematical school, in addition she went to a music school, theater circles, and also gymnastics.
Lyudmila Efimenko's parents believed that it was better for her to get some serious profession, for example, an accountant. Therefore, the family was skeptical about the choice of their daughter.
However, the actress was still able to enter the VGIK at the acting department and successfully graduated from it. From 1972 to this day, Lyudmila has been working as an actress in the A. Dovzhenko Film Studio.
In Kiev, the actress is also known as an assistant professor at the State University of Theater Arts named after Karpenko-Kary. Lyudmila Filippovna teaches at the Department of Directing and Drama of the Faculty of Film and Television.
Lyudmila Efimenko has two honorary titles of Ukraine - Honored Artist (since 1998) and People's Artist (since 2008).
Personal life
The actress was married twice. The first marriage was too short, probably because of this she has no children from her first husband. During her first marriage, Lyudmila Filippovna changed her surname to her husband's surname - Terziev.
For the second time, the actress married director Yuri Gerasimovich Ilyenko, but instead of taking her husband's surname, she regained her maiden name. The actress met Yuri Gerasimovich at the end of the second year of study at VGIK. The age difference between them is almost 16 years, but this did not prevent Yuri and Lyudmila from legalizing the relationship.
Lyudmila Filippovna likes the fairy tale "Cinderella" and she always dreamed of a prince. She considers her marriage to Yuri Ilyenko to be ideal, since she found a man with whom life was a fairy tale. According to the actress, it was her husband who taught her to bake pies and cook borscht.
Lyudmila Efimenko and Yuri Ilyenko had two children - Philip and Andrey. The actress is very proud of her sons. Unfortunately, the marriage between the actress and the director only lasted 35 years.
At the moment, the actress is a widow (her second husband died in 2010).
Career
Lyudmila Efimenko starred in 18 films. The actress played roles in such films as The Legend of Princess Olga, How the Steel Was Tempered, Karmelyuk. She was the screenwriter and director of the film "Ave Maria", and also played the main role in it.
For the best directorial debut, Lyudmila Filippovna received the Golden Knight prize. Also in 1999 she received a special prize from the Listapad International Film Festival.
