The road to the destined
Tatyana Pavlovna Sergeeva was born in Moscow. She was born in 1951, on November 28. Parents had nothing to do with music. But at home there was a piano left over from my grandmother. The girl literally did not leave the instrument.
Seeing the child's interest, the parents took her to the Dunaevsky music school not far from home. From the age of seven, the doors of the Central Music School at the Conservatory opened for Tanya.
While studying at a special school, Sergeeva showed a talent for composing works. By the beginning of the classes, she was already confidently improvising, varying melodies that appeared from nowhere. The music did not resemble motives previously known to anyone. The teachers quickly realized that the student composes herself.
The schoolgirl's passion for music was soon added to her love of drawing. She painted oil paintings in her own manner, calling the style forced primitivism. Painting, like musical creativity, did not fit into any "schools".
The girl's favorite drawing is "Cowboys". On it, against a burgundy background, a bar counter with characteristic male profiles in famous hats is scrawled. The girl literally gushed with new melodies. By this time, she was already seriously engaged in the composition class.
Tatiana wrote easily and quickly. Her works were compared with youthful poems. The sixteen-year-old songwriter suddenly stopped writing. She was worried about an unexpected crisis. From the outside, everything looked like an instant loss of skill.
Performing gift
However, three years passed, and the talent returned again. By that time, the girl had completed her education in 1970. She decided to continue her education in one of the best institutions in the world, the Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatory. After graduation, the graduate received a diploma in the specialty "Piano and Organ".
Since 1975, Sergeeva's musical biography continued in the composition class for four more years. From 1979 to 1981, Tatiana was offered an internship in the chosen direction. After going through all the stages, the girl turned into a unique performer.
She turned out to be completely unlike others as a virtuoso pianist, harpsichordist and organist. For Tatyana Pavlovna, it is not difficult to play any keyboard instrument. She perfectly interprets music composed by other composers. The performer even plays compositions that require unthinkable tricks.
For a long time they tried not to play such compositions. Sergeeva also performs almost forgotten Russian music of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. The repertoire includes performers and completely unknown authors.
Composer talent
As a composer, Tatiana Pavlovna is not limited by anything. She is guided by common sense and her own line from one composition to another. For many years, this has been the main driving force behind inspiration.
Sergeeva prefers a non-conceptual version of minimalism. However, she does not forget about neo-expressionism and neo-romanticism. Not a single style is leading for her. Tatyana Pavlovna chooses only what she loves and is guided by her own mood.
Her works cannot be called any definite generalizing terms. None of the existing definitions is suitable for the author's work. The performer creates music that is natural and simple, living in her own special world and time.
For her activities Sergeeva in Germany was awarded the Beethoven Gold Medal. In 1987 Tatiana Pavlovna was awarded the Shostakovich Composer Prize. Since 2003 she has been a laureate of the International Prokofiev Competition for Composers.
Tatyana Pavlovna has repeatedly recorded works for the radio. Almost all of her works are included in the golden fund of the musical world.
Contemporary activities
Despite the merits, Sergeeva is absolutely not ambitious. She does not refuse requests when asked to do something. However, when talking about their own tours around the country or going abroad, where the performer is appreciated, the trips are spontaneous. Sergeeva does not use the services of a director or producer.
She is the executive secretary of the Russian Union of Composers. But this appointment is not the main merit for the writer. She calls music her source of inspiration and main stimulus. Tatiana Pavlovna gives concerts a lot.
She tours the country, travels to Germany, the CIS countries, France, the United States. They are waiting for her everywhere. The performer plays the harpsichord, organ, performing programs of both her own composition and the work of her favorite composers.
A creative person is not only interested in the result. The process is much more important for her. Tatyana Pavlovna actively participates in international festivals of contemporary music.
In her free time, she likes to paint, writes poetry. She can be in the creative process for an infinitely long time.
