Sometimes, depending on your mood, you want to watch a sad film in order to plunge into the abyss of the experiences of the main characters and cry over the terrible vicissitudes of fate that they had to endure. After two or three hours of compassion for strangers, one's own life no longer seems so gloomy and hopeless.
Hurry to love
School is a place where young people not only gain knowledge, but also look for their place in society, make friends, learn to resist enemies and, of course, fall in love. The main character Landon Carter is the idol of all girls, proud and independent, not averse to explaining to the outcasts of the class where they belong. But one day during such a "conversation" one of his victims is seriously injured. Landon is not expelled, but the headmaster sets him several conditions, one of which was participation in the school play. In the drama club, Carter meets a gray mouse, the daughter of the priest Jamie Sullivan. The girl agrees to help the hapless handsome man, but takes a promise from him that he will not fall in love with her. Landon easily agrees, because he never liked quiet and nondescript girls. However, gradually young people begin to feel sympathy for each other. Their life could have been happy, if not for one thing - Jamie is sick with leukemia, and Landon's whole familiar world is crumbling.
The film is based on the book by Nicholas Sparks, and the prototype of Jamie was the author's younger sister, who died of cancer. The book and the film are dedicated to her.
Artificial intelligence
Films in which abandoned and unloved children seek to find adults who will surround them with care and give them a little warmth touch the soul. Artificial Intelligence is a sad film about not a real child. While scientists debate whether the robots of the future will be able to sense and make independent decisions, Steven Spielberg creates a cyborg David from the XXII century. David lives with his mother Monica, father Henry and a robotic teddy bear, and he is programmed to love his parents. However, the idyll in the family does not last long, since the couple has their own child, Martin. A series of practical jokes prepared by Martin and his friends make Henry and Monica think that the robot wants to kill their own son. Initially, the couple, after consulting, decides to destroy David, but after Monica, taking pity on him, leaves him and his bear in the forest. Remembering the tale of "Pinocchio", the robot decides to find a fairy who will turn him into a real boy so that he can return to his parents. The search for the fairy ends at the bottom of the ocean, where David takes the statue from the attraction for a magical creation. Trapped in an underwater trap, he begs to make him a real boy until he runs out of power.
Initially, Stanley Kubrick planned to shoot the film in 1970, but he considered the computer graphics of that time not good enough, and the film was released only in 2001.
If only
The proverb says that you cannot enter the same river twice, but in some films the heroes succeed. Samantha and Ian are a couple, but they are so different. Samantha is enthusiastic and impulsive, she sees her vocation in music. Ian is a pragmatist, passionate about his work. Lovers often quarrel and do not understand each other, but the car accident in which Samantha dies makes Ian rethink their relationship and understand that he will not exchange his beloved for anything in the world. A man falls asleep with regrets about the impossibility of changing anything. But fate gives him such a chance. Ian wakes up in the morning to find Samantha next to him. He makes this day for his beloved the happiest in her life, arranges her concert and gives jewelry. However, in the evening, when the couple returns home in a taxi, Ian notices a car flying in them. He still manages to change his destiny - he shields the girl with himself and dies in her place.
