Starting conditions

In the first third of the last century, cinema projectors appeared even in the most remote corners of the Soviet Union. If there was no suitable room, the paintings were “played” in factory canteens and village clubs. Vladimir Pavlovich Balashov was born on July 10, 1920 in a large peasant family. The child turned out to be the seventh of eight children. Parents lived in the large village of Izhevskoye on the lands of the Ryazan province. My father was engaged in arable farming and worked in the latrine trades. The mother kept the household and raised the children.

The boy was prepared from an early age for an independent life. When Volodya was three years old, he was already looking after chickens and ducks. As a reward for good work, he was allowed to go to the club to see a picture that the projectionist brought once a week from the city. When the future actor was 7 years old, he was taken to Moscow by one of his older brothers. Here he went to school and received his secondary education in 1937. Balashov intended to enter the geological faculty of the university, but his best friend invited him to the acting school at the Mosfilm film studio.

Professional activity

Vladimir Pavlovich's acting career began in his student years. In his sophomore year he was invited to star in the film "The Oppenheim Family". He played one of the leading roles. In the summer of 1941, Balashov received a diploma in theater and cinema actor. And the next day after the ceremony, the war began. The film studio was evacuated to the distant city of Alma-Ata. Here, deep in the rear, work on the creation of paintings did not stop. The young actor was entrusted with both leading roles and episodic ones. During the evacuation, Balashov starred in the films "The Artamonovs Case", "How the Steel Was Tempered", "Partisans in the Steppes of Ukraine".

In the post-war period, Balashov's acting career developed quite successfully. He starred with famous directors. The actor appeared on the screen in the films "Private Alexander Matrosov", "Restless Economy", "Mussorgsky", "Admiral Ushakov". Vladimir Pavlovich went to the site with famous actors who were respectful of their younger partner. In 1955, Balashov was awarded the honorary title of Honored Artist of the RSFSR.

Recognition and privacy

The work of Vladimir Balashov was appreciated by officials. For his role in the film "Mussorgsky" he was awarded the 1st degree Stalin Prize. In the intervals between filming, Vladimir Pavlovich was engaged in dubbing films.

The actor's personal life took shape on the second try. The first time he got married was a student. The couple lived together for over ten years. The absence of children was the reason for the divorce. In 1955, Balashov married actress Rosa Matyushkina. The husband and wife raised a daughter. Balashov spent the last years of his life alone. Vladimir Pavlovich died in December 1996.
