Instructions

Step 1

According to the legislation of the Russian Federation, a citizen who studies on a full-time basis at a university, college or vocational school receives a deferment from military service. Full-time graduate students also receive a deferment on the same terms as students. Civil servants can also count on a temporary exemption from the army. This category includes employees of the internal affairs bodies, firefighters, employees of the penal system and customs officers. It should be remembered that such a deferral is provided only on condition of graduation from a specialized educational institution, as well as in the presence of special titles.

Step 2

Family circumstances are a very serious legal basis for obtaining a respite from military service. In this case, the potential defender of the Motherland should be simply an irreplaceable person for the family. A young person is exempt from military service if he provides constant care or supervision of a weak relative (mother, father, brother, sister, grandmother, grandfather or wife), provided that helpless citizens are not fully supported by the state. Also, a deferral is provided to a conscript even if he has one child and a wife who is 26 weeks pregnant or more. Persons who managed to acquire two children before being drafted into the army are completely exempt from military service.

Step 3

Those citizens who are currently under investigation, judicial investigation or preliminary investigation are not subject to conscription. Also, a person cannot serve in the army if he has an unexpunged or outstanding conviction. And, of course, citizens who are serving sentences in places of deprivation of liberty, as well as those sentenced to any kind of correctional labor, are subject to exemption from military service.

Step 4

Citizens recognized as unfit or partially fit due to poor health are considered free from conscription. There are many diseases, the presence of which is a reason for recognizing a young man as unfit for military service. These include significant underweight; flat feet, scoliosis and other diseases of the musculoskeletal system; experienced serious trauma. Mental abnormalities characterized by uncontrolled behavior, unjustified aggression and unpredictability are a sufficient reason for refusing to serve in the armed forces.
