Yuri Kokov began his career in the criminal investigation department. Then he successfully fought against plunderers of national property. From the biography of Yuri Alexandrovich Kokov
The future statesman of Russia was born in Nalchik (Kabardian SSR) on August 13, 1955. His parents moved to the city shortly before the birth of their son. Previously, the family lived in the village of Karagach.
In 1974, Kokov graduated from high school in Nalchik and decided to link his fate with law enforcement. The young man entered the law faculty of Rostov State University. Received a diploma of higher education in 1979. After graduation, he returned to his native land, where he went to work in the criminal investigation department. For several years, Yuri was engaged in the fight against the theft of socialist property.
Public service
Kokov's career in the civil service continued in 1988, when he was appointed to head the administrative and economic department of the Council of Ministers of his native republic. Four years later, Yuri Kokov becomes deputy head of the criminal police service, and then begins to lead the Department for Combating Economic Crimes, created under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kabardino-Balkaria.
In 1993, Kokov was elected to the Republican House of Representatives. In this structure, an experienced lawyer was assigned to lead the Commission on Security and Legislation.
Two years later, Yuri Alexandrovich took the post of Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the republic. At the same time, he served as the head of the criminal police service.
In 1999, Kokov was transferred to Moscow, where he became the chief inspector in the organizational and inspection department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Four years later, Kokov's conscientious service was entrusted to lead the fight against organized crime throughout the country: he became the deputy head of the corresponding department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
From 2008 to 2011, Kokov headed the department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in charge of the fight against extremism, after which he headed one of the main departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In the fall of 2012, Yuri Alexandrovich was appointed head of the Institute for Advanced Studies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the country.
Career in politics
In December 2013, Vladimir Putin dismissed the head of Kabardino-Balkaria A. Kanokov and approved the acting head of the region, Yuri Aleksandrovich Kokov.
In October 2014, Kokov began to constantly act as the head of the republic. Kokov considered one of his main tasks to be the development of the agrarian sector of the republic's economy. Under the new leader, the regional government actively used measures to support small businesses. Kokov also did not disregard energy, transport and construction.
In the fall of 2018, due to his transfer to Moscow, Kokov was relieved of his post as head of Kabardino-Balkaria. Currently, Yuri Aleksandrovich is the Deputy Secretary of the Security Council.
Yuri Kokov is married. His wife, Zhanna Babaeva, comes from a highly influential Balkar clan. Jeanne's father is a high-ranking official of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The couple raised two children.
