In 2011, a competition for the improvement of the city "Moscow courtyard" was held in Moscow, as a result of which, among other things, the most comfortable district of the capital was determined. Severnoye Butovo won the palm, the second place was given to the Savelki, and the third to Sokolinaya Gora.
The Severnoye Butovo area is located south of the Moscow Ring Road, in the South-West District of the capital. It was here that at the end of the 80s of the XX century, an experiment began on the original planning, building and landscaping. This is one of the most ecologically clean areas of Moscow - there are no large enterprises, nearby is a forest (Bitsevsky Park) and a river. At the same time, the infrastructure is well developed, there are several large shopping centers, 21 kindergartens, 12 secondary schools, public organizations and many leisure and sports establishments, as well as a functioning Orthodox Church (the temple of the Great Martyr Paraskeva Pyatnitsa).
Great attention is paid to the improvement of the district by the city authorities. Every year parks, courtyards, squares are put in order. Flower beds are being broken, small fountains are being arranged, pedestrian paths are laid out with tiles, new playgrounds and sports grounds appear, equipped with table tennis tables and exercise equipment.
The second place in the capital for landscaping was the Zelenograd district of Savelki. There is also a favorable ecological environment, many sports grounds, parks, and a large city pond. Undoubtedly, the main decoration of Saveloki can be called the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, one of the oldest buildings in the city.
The third place among the most comfortable districts of Moscow was taken by Sokolinaya Gora. It is one of the oldest industrial centers in the capital, with over 90 machine-building and metalworking enterprises located here. More than 84 thousand people live here, there are many sports organizations, theaters, leisure centers. The commission took into account the condition of courtyards, sidewalks, public transport stops, facades of houses, playgrounds and sports grounds and much more.
