The sculptor, unlike circus and stage performers, leads a secluded life. Alexander Apollonov, at certain moments of his work, did not leave the workshop for days. The enlightened public saw only the results of labor, while the author himself modestly remained in the shadows.
Childhood and youth

The future sculptor was born on August 11, 1947 in an ordinary Soviet family. Parents at that time lived in the famous city of Frunze, which was located within the Kirghiz SSR. Both mother and father worked on a geological expedition. After retirement, they moved to the Kuban, where they settled for permanent residence in the city of Krasnodar. Here Alexander graduated from high school and received a specialized secondary education at a local art school. After that, he was drafted into the ranks of the armed forces. After serving as it should, Apollonov entered the Moscow State Art Institute.
Creative activity
In 1974 Apollonov received his diploma and came to Krasnodar. The certified sculptor was hired by the Regional Artistic Combine. Here the labor process has long been established and established. Each sculptor received a “plan assignment” that did not always correlate with creativity. The plant regularly received orders for sculptural images of leaders and leaders of production. Such works were distributed among the honored workers of the art plant. The first project, which brought Alexander Alekseevich recognition and an honorary prize, was implemented in two years. The relief is placed on the facade of the "House of Books" store.
Apollonov's professional career developed successfully. He tried his hand at different textures. He worked with stone and wood. As a result, he began to give preference to bronze. It was this material that was best suited for expressing the artist's creative ideas. The sculpture of Empress Catherine II has become a symbol of Krasnodar. The bust of Vasily Margelov stands in Rostov-on-Don. A half-length monument to Admiral Nakhimov is located in Moscow. For several years, Apollonov taught the basics of sculptural art at the Krasnodar Institute of Culture.
Recognition and privacy
For his great contribution to the development of Russian culture and art, Alexander Apollonov was awarded the honorary knowledge "Honored Artist of the Russian Federation". He was elected a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Arts.
The sculptor's personal life has developed well. He lived his entire adult life in a legal marriage. The wife was also involved in the creation of sculptures. The husband and wife raised and raised three sons. The elder teaches philosophy. The middle one graduated from the conservatory. The youngest is engaged in industrial design.
Alexander Apollonov died tragically in a car accident on June 13, 2017.
