Biography and career of Yuri Leonidovich Itskov

On May 29, 1950, in the capital of our Motherland, the future People's Artist of Russia was born into a family directly connected with the world of theater and cinema (father is a director and screenwriter, and mother is an actress). From childhood, Yura did not imagine himself in any other profession except acting. Therefore, after receiving a certificate of secondary education, he applied to several metropolitan theater universities.

However, the debut attempt was unsuccessful, and Itskov solved the problem radically by going to Vladivostok, where he entered the local art institute. In 1970, with a diploma in hand, he went to Irkutsk, starting his creative career with a work in the drama theater of this city.

For nine years, the stage of the Irkutsk theater was the creative home of an aspiring actor, after which he was invited to Omsk, where he joined the troupe of the local theater. This period of his theatrical creativity mainly includes performances of the classical genre, where he truly revealed his talent as a play actor. And Moliere's "The Reluctant Doctor", Tolstoy's "Living Corpse", Ostrovsk's "Dowry" and Chekhov's "Three Sisters" became brilliant theatrical works in his professional portfolio.

Since the beginning of the 2000s, Yuri Leonidovich changed his theatrical registration to the Theater of Satire, which is located in Northern Palmyra. There, his repertoire was replenished with many theatrical masterpieces, including King Lear, The Marriage of Figaro, The Force of Habit and many other performances. Interestingly, the geography of his places of work even includes Warsaw, in one of the theaters of which he worked for some time.

Yuri Itskov's cinematic debut dates back to 1989, when he appeared on the set as Gena in the film "Who Lives in Russia …". And for the period of the "noughties" there was recognition and fame. At this stage of his creative career, his filmography was regularly replenished with successful film works. Among the rating film projects, one can separately highlight "Gangster Petersburg", "Favorite", "Secrets of the Investigation" and others.

Personal life of the artist

The family life of Yuri Itskov is exemplary. After all, the only marriage with a colleague in the creative workshop Nadezhda Zhivoderova, whom he met while working in Omsk, in 1981, passed all the tests of time. According to the People's Artist of Russia, it is work and perseverance that can bring happiness to personal life, keeping love for many years.
