Portraits were painted of her, her performances in Paris and London were sold out, she raised Olympic figure skating champions and does not stop working with the best of the best. Former ballerina, soloist of the Bolshoi Theater, eminent choreographer and simply regally magnificent woman - Vlasova Lyudmila Iosifovna.
Childhood and youth
Biography of Vlasova Lyudmila Iosifovna since childhood is filled with vivid events and people, Shakespearean passions and heartbreaking stories. She was born on the second day of spring 1942, in the family of the talented musician Joseph Markov.
Unfortunately, the family soon broke up, and the mother of little Mila, an actress who left her career for her husband, had to look for any job. The post-war childhood of the future famous ballerina was spent in the corridors of a gloomy building, where she danced between drying linen hung in the long corridor of a communal apartment.
Soon Lyudmila entered the choreographic school, where the girl had to master the high art of classical dance along with such legends as Nina Sorokina, Mikhail Lavrovsky and others. The post-war generation of children was extremely gifted, as if returning the losses of a terrible war to people.
Career and personal life
Lyudmila immediately after school was invited to the Bolshoi Theater, where she was taken under his wing by Vyacheslav Vlasov, a choreographer, who immediately appreciated the talent of the young ballerina and her extraordinary external data. Soon, Vyacheslav married Lyudmila, becoming a patron and protector, teacher and support in everything for a talented dancer. And she was his muse.
The ballerina performed at government concerts, often went on overseas tours, the family had a wealth. Lyudmila's mother bought a good apartment, the ballerina herself possessed all the symbols of success - fur coats, jewelry, a luxurious apartment. By 1970, Lyudmila became a soloist of the Bolshoi Theater.
And suddenly for everyone in the life of the rich and famous Vlasova, everything changes dramatically. After the premiere of the film with her participation in 1971, the 28-year-old ballerina meets Alexander Godunov, a 21-year-old dancer who has moved to Moscow from Riga and a rising star of Soviet ballet.
Soon Lyudmila, leaving all the property to her husband, goes to Alexander. Poverty awaited them, and the constant threat of a ban on foreign performances, condemnation of the entire bohemian community and long months of hard work on the ballet stage. Lyudmila continues to shine on stage, selling her things left over from her ex-husband in order to somehow pay for the meager housing.
Two years later, Plisetskaya chooses Alexander as a partner for her legendary "Swan Lake", which means the highest success and good prosperity. In 1975, Godunov became an honored artist, and in 1978, together with Lyudmila, he played in the magic fairy tale film "June 31", which became prophetic for the spouses.
A trip to the United States in 1979 was the farewell for the couple in love. Alexander asked for political asylum in America, and Mila returned to the USSR, and this turned out to be the most difficult - they did not want to let the ballerina go home. Two years later, their divorce took place through the embassy. Godunov, having made a magnificent career on the American stage, died in 1995 from chronic alcoholism, and until his last days he told everyone that he loved only her, his Mila. In 1981, Lyudmila married the opera singer Statnik, who today teaches vocals at the Helsinki Opera.
After the Bolshoi Theater
At 41, Lyudmila unexpectedly announced the end of her ballet career. The woman was tired of the world of envy, intrigue and eternal rivalry, which destroyed her only true love - Alexander. At the suggestion of Kokhanovskaya, Vlasova began to train young athletes in rhythmic gymnastics, and then went into figure skating, becoming an ice dance choreographer and working with many famous couples in this sport.
Lyudmila, like many ballerinas, could not dare to give birth to a child, and this is the only thing she regrets. Even in her first marriage, she had an abortion - and for her this is a sore and forbidden topic. But in general, Lyudmila Iosifovna is pleased with how she lived her life - difficult and filled with bright events.
