The upbringing in the family was strict but versatile. Boris was taught skills in many fields and disciplines. However, the boy himself showed great diligence in his studies. He was curious and determined. Talents and inclinations developed gradually during the learning process.

Education included a physics and mathematics school, brilliant participation in olympiads in chemistry, singing, performing on stage, playing chess. Boris read a lot, the list of references was carefully followed by his strict mother.

In his youth, when the time came to decide on the views of life, Boris Smolkin chose acting.

Long road to glory

Smolkin did not succeed in entering the Leningrad Institute of Theater and Music the first time, and the young man went, so as not to waste time, to the Faculty of Chemistry. A visit to the studio of Ilya Reznik, which was based at the university, allowed me to keep my creative form at the level.

The next year was again crowned with failure (the drama competition was not passed) and Boris entered the music department. After graduation, Smolkin gets a job at the Musical Comedy Theater, where he served for thirty-six years.

And if it is not proper for the artists to give an answer to the question of which of the projects are their favorite, then the fans absolutely definitely choose the most relevant roles of the actors on their own.

The series "My Fair Nanny" became the starting point for Boris Smolkin to resounding success and winning the love of millions of fans. The verbal picks of the charming butler Konstantin and the funny, slightly ridiculous Zhanna Arkadyevna evoked a great response from the viewer. Sometimes the attention of fans to this plot line even exceeded the interest in the main theme of the series - the romantic relationship between the main characters.

Many "star" actors were involved in this project: Sergei Zhigunov, Alexander Filippenko, Lyubov Polishchuk, who had serious health problems during the filming of the series.

Being a versatile personality, Boris Smolkin tried himself in different fields: TV presenter on several programs, participant in the show "Dancing with the Stars", dubbing films.

For a long time, Boris Smolkin was the "calling card" of the musical comedy theater. His huge track record includes work in such performances as "The Bat", "Truffaldino", "Krechinsky's Wedding".

Personal life

Boris Smolkin has two marriages behind him. The actor met his first wife in his student years and broke up when his son Vladimir reached the age of six.

For many years, Smolkin did not manage to have a serious relationship. There was a time when, with bitterness, he decided to put an end to his personal life. At the age of fifty, he was still lonely. Quite unexpectedly for the actor himself, he felt a strong sympathy for one employee of the musical comedy theater Svetlana. Over time, mutual attraction grew into a stronger feeling, and the couple formalized their relationship.

Svetlana Smolkina worked as an accompanist in the theater and was much younger than her husband. But the age difference did not become a hindrance to a strong relationship and soon the couple had a child, a boy, who was named Gleb.

Their relationship caused a negative resonance among colleagues, acquaintances and relatives. But year after year, the family grew stronger, and the disgruntled rumors stopped.

The difference in the age of the children is twenty-five years. The eldest son of the actor, Vladimir, is engaged in producing, the youngest is fond of sports, in particular, figure skating.
