In the 80s, a new star of the first magnitude rose on the musical horizon of Russia: the public learned about the existence of the virtuoso pianist Yevgeny Kisin. All of his performances were sold out. Then there were trips abroad, in which the musician also invariably achieved success. The free and virtuoso playing of the pianist is combined with remarkable artistic talent.
From the biography of E. Kissin
The future virtuoso pianist was born on October 10, 1971 in the capital of the USSR. Eugene's father worked as an engineer, my mother successfully taught piano. At the age of six, Kissin went to school. Gnesins and began to study music. Anna Kantor became the teacher of the talented child.
At the age of 10, Eugene performed for the first time with the accompaniment of an orchestra, performing one of Mozart's concertos. Then there were solo performances, including in the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory. Eugene's performances excited the music community and made the pianist a favorite of music lovers in the capital of the country. The musician was well received on the banks of the Neva.
Most of all, in the early years of his career, Kissin loved to perform Chopin. Every time during concerts, Evgeny demonstrated stylistic sensitivity, free virtuosity and artistry that captivates listeners.
In 1985, Eugene went to concerts abroad. After 2 years, Kissin performed at the famous Berlin Festival. He was soon invited to perform in the United States. Some of the concerts featuring the virtuoso pianist were broadcast on American television. Kissin was seen by a multi-million dollar audience of the United States.
Further career and creativity
The musician was inspired by the success. Kissin launched an active concert activity: he was greeted with enthusiasm in America, Asia and Europe. The performances of the Russian musician invariably attracted full auditoriums. Evgeny Igorevich has performed with the best orchestras led by famous conductors: Vladimir Ashkenazi, Valery Gergiev, Mstislav Rostropovich, Yuri Temirkanov, Colin Davis, Daniel Barenboim.
Poetry became another hobby of Kissin. Poetry evenings with his participation, where Eugene read poetry in Russian and Yiddish, delighted the audience. The pianist himself believes that he has a very strong Jewish identity. Many of Kissin's poems were published in New York newspapers.
For about 30 years, Kissin has been living in New York, then in the capital of France, then in London. In recent years, the pianist has settled in Prague. At the beginning of this century, Kissin received British citizenship. And a little later he became a citizen of Israel. In an extensive interview, Kissin admitted that for many years he thought about Israel, that he was always worried about the hostility towards this country on the part of some Western powers. Having become a citizen of Israel, Eugene found inner peace: everything in his life fell into place.
Evgeny Kisin is the holder of many honorary titles. He has received awards for his contribution to the development of friendly relations between different peoples. The pianist took part in providing humanitarian aid to the Armenian people who suffered from the terrible earthquake in 1988.
